Selenium - essential for the physical fitness and immune system of a horse. Central Europe is an area with a selenium deficiency when it comes to horse feed. Selenium is an essential trace element that the organism cannot produce itself and therefore it must enter the horse via the feed. However, there is currently far too little selenium in grass and hay to meet the daily requirement. The most common symptoms of a selenium deficiency are:
Susceptibility to infections
Reduced performance
Muscle stiffness
Muscle pain
Orthosal Selenium contains only organically bound selenium. The dietary supplement is ideal for supporting the immune system. It supports the function and performance of the heart and skeletal muscles. In addition, selenium plays an important role in the formation of thyroid hormones and in the fertility of stallions. If the selenium content is too low, we recommend feeding orthosal zinc to compensate.
