E Selenium

Reverdy E Selenium is a nutritional supplement for adult horses, young horses, broodmares and stallions.

Vitamin E is an important biological antioxidant that plays a fundamental role in the protection of cell membranes in the organism. Its use in the sport horse is particularly interesting because it helps prevent muscle problems. In addition, it improves not only the fertility of breeding animals, but also, through colostrum, the transfer of passive immunity (antibodies) between mother and foal.

Selenium is a trace element that, as a cofactor of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), plays a key role in the antioxidant battle alongside vitamin E. 100% of selenium is supplied as selenomethionine, the main form in which selenium is stored in the body. Selenium from this organic source is better absorbed and stored than sodium selenite (the inorganic form).

• Can be used in higher doses in horses prone to chronic myopathies (“tying up”), during intensive training or in neurological disorders such as EMND (Equine Motor Neuron Disease).
