Vitalbix PsylliumMash is a healthy mash with 50% psyllium seeds. A unique mash to easily give a (monthly) sand cure, suitable for every horse. Vitalbix PsylliumMash is made on the basis of timothy grass and does not contain alfalfa. Thanks to the low starch and sugar content (total 4.9%) and the good digestibility, Vitalbix PsylliumMash is a responsible choice, also for horses that need a low starch and sugar ration. It is also very tasty, easy to use and quickly ready.

Mix PsylliumMash with 1 to 3 parts water for a firmer mash and with 4 parts water for a very thin mash. You can vary this, depending on what your horse likes! Use cold or warm water, not boiling. Let stand for 10-15 minutes, stir and feed immediately! Not suitable for long standing after preparation. The seeds swell and you want this to happen in the intestines at the right time. For proper functioning, do not mix other Vitalbix products, supplements or medication. Always consult your vet first with medication.

Give your horse enough roughage. A continuous supply of fiber helps to remove sand from the intestines and prevent sand from accumulating in the intestines. Also make sure that your horse always has enough drinking water available during the cure!

As a preventive treatment:

• 100 grams of mash per 100 kg body weight, once a day
• A 500 kg horse is fed 500 grams in one portion, per day.
• With 1 bag you can give 12 days (=2 treatments)

If sand is found in the manure/intestines:

• 200 grams of mash per 100 kg body weight, once a day
• A 500 kg horse is fed 1000 grams in one portion per day
• With 1 bag you have enough for 1 treatment
• Repeat the treatment if necessary in consultation with your veterinarian

If a lot of sand is found in the manure/intestines:

• 200 grams of mash per 100 kg body weight, 2 x per day
• A 500 kg horse is fed 1000 grams in one portion, twice a day
• In total, a 500 kg horse gets 2 kilos per day
• Repeat the treatment if necessary in consultation with your veterinarian.
