Without work:
The dosage for horses without work or in light work is 160 grams per 100 kg body weight. This is sufficient for horses that are happily retired or still perform recreational/light work.
Moderate to heavy work:
For the older horse that still works regularly, the dosage is 200 grams per 100 kg body weight. Is the horse thin or does it need extra support? Then this increased dosage can also be applied.
Extra support:
For horses that need extra support, for example during recovery, underweight, or reduced condition, the dosage is 200 grams per 100 kg body weight.
A full Vitalbix measuring cup contains 280 grams of Senior+
A standard measuring cup contains 980 grams
The transition is best done gradually, depending on what you are currently feeding:
Are you already feeding Vitalbix? Feel free to mix the Senior+ Muesli 50/50 with the current Vitalbix product (such as Daily Complete, Balance+ Muesli, or Active+ Muesli) for two weeks. This way, your horse can gradually get used to the taste and the gut flora has time to adapt.
Are you currently feeding another brand? Email us for personal transition advice, and we will be happy to help you make the transition as smooth as possible for your horse!
